Such thinking is a big mistake. While the Bible says only Jesus can give you a peace of mind if you accept him as your Lord and savior, struggles are still part of our life. These can be in our own commitments for the church, in our family or in our personal life. However, the advantage we can have is that the Lord will never leave us and it’s the only strength we can hold on despite the burdens we feel.
Are you having struggles today? Then these nuggets of wisdom I wrote based from everyday experience can help you.
On being
a member of God’s familyChristianity presents itself as having the goodness, benevolence, willful delight and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not a religion where rules are enforced and strictly followed, a ritual to practice, or escaping sins for the fear of punishment. The commandments of God were written for the purpose of enhancing his love with His people. To follow God's commandments is the key to open our eyes and heart how awesome he loves us.
On our own personal struggles
One big mistake that we pray is to let God change our struggling circumstances in life. As what others say, life would be boring if we are not being challenged by our own adversities and trials. We can’t escape from everything that is too difficult in our lives. The presence of such circumstances defines our role to recognize its refining purpose. Then when our eyes are widely open to see it, pray instead that God would change our character. He is more interested in changing us than the circumstance we are in.
On Worship
The Greek word for worship is Latriea which means "Divine service." It elaborates the idea that worship is not the totality of singing a song of praise to God or by attending mass alone. In Romans 12:1 it says, "Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- This
In a clearer sense, Paul is encouraging us that our service to God is to absolutely surrender our lives to him. We have been given both the freedom and will to perform divine service. That's freedom to choose and do everything for the glory (will) of God.
It' s a new perspective to be taught to the young people who wants to involve themselves in a ministry. It's also very challenging.
Many young people seek a worship service that's all about song. When the church sings a song taken from hymnals or traditions, they would feel the need to get out of the church and find one that suits to their genre. While there might be a little something wrong for the church, this shouldn't discourage leaders. I know that the need to invite someone is the desire to help them search for the real purpose of their lives. When we help them understand true worship and assist them in offering their lives to God, we are already feeding their needs. That's true worship and it's about fulfilling one's deepest needs, but this is just a secondary purpose. What's more important is that any form of worship we do, it should please God and that is to serve him with all our mind, heart and soul by serving others.
Conclusion
The fact that such life advices can help us, may we still find more in searching and knowing God. We cannot understand the purpose he has in our life if we do not surrender our whole life to him. Do you have the desire to know him more? This is just one guide that can help you. Start by reading the Bible.
